What We Believe

We Believe:

THAT THE BIBLE is the inspired Word of God. It is the only authoritative, infallible, and inerrant guide for faith and practice.

THAT GOD IS TRIUNE. There is but one God; infinite, eternal, almighty, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal.

THAT JESUS CHRIST, truly man in all respects, was then and is now truly God; attested by His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, and glorious resurrection. He is called the Son of God, the Coming King, and mankind's only Savior. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT is also a person and a member of the Godhead, who indwells every born again believer directing, energizing, and sealing him until the coming of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the sovereign giver of spiritual gifts, all of which are available to the believer today and are given for the building up of the Body of Christ.

THAT MAN is a sinner by nature and by fact and must, by the grace of God, be regenerated.

THAT THERE IS A RESURRECTION of the body, of those who believe to eternal life and of those who believe not to eternal death or separation from God.

THAT THE LOCAL CHURCH is an organization of believers who are also a part of the total Body of Christ. They meet together for worship, fellowship, growth, and service. They observe baptism and the Lord's supper as admonitions of our Lord to show forth His death, resurrection, and second coming. These do not bestow any grace or remove any sin; they only attest publicly to our commitment to Jesus Christ.

THIS CHURCH ACCEPTS into its membership all those who confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, who have been scripturally baptized in water, and who have successfully completed the New Members Class.

THIS CHURCH WELCOMES fellowship with other Bible believing churches. We cooperate, as led by the Holy Spirit, with the American Baptist Churches of the Pacific Southwest. We do not believe in or support the National Council of Churches or the World Council of Churches.
